COVID-19 Update

A Message to Our Clients and their Families

The impact of the novel Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) and subsequent stay-at-home orders have affected everyone. This virus has dramatically changed the world around us and how we live our daily lives. Lockdowns and quarantines have been particularly hard on the elderly and their families. At 5 Star Home Care, we are acutely aware of the impact this disease and the surrounding lifestyle changes have had on our clients. We are regularly monitoring this situation and will do all that is necessary to ensure not only the safety of those in our care but also our caregivers. Through this all, we remain committed to providing the best care in your home, assisted living facility or anywhere you need us.

In addition to following CDC guidance, we screen our caregivers each day via the ClearCareGo mobile app. Before beginning work and interacting with a patient, our caregivers are required to answer these 6 questions every 24 hours:

Have/are you or a member of your household:

  • Experienced any symptoms of COVID-19, including fever, cough, or shortness of breath?
  • Been out of the country within the last 14-18 days?
  • Encountered anyone known to have COVID-19?
  • Encountered anyone who has traveled overseas or to a high-risk area within the last 14- 18 days?
  • Been hospitalized within the last 14-18 days
  • Been in contact with anyone who was hospitalized within the last 14-18 days?

Only those caregivers that have answered NO to each question will be allowed to interact and care for a client. In those instance where a caregiver answers YES to any question, they will be directed to contact our office for further instruction.

All of our caregivers are required to wear gloves and protective masks. Also, any caregiver experiencing a fever will not be permitted to report to work.

The safety and health of our clients remains our first and foremost priority. Should you have any questions regarding our services or COVID-19 procedures, please contact our main office at: (484) 270-8387.
